Fern Street Circus

Fern Street Circus kicks off its 2024 tour on Saturday, April 6 at 2 p.m. at Teralta Park. The circus will also be in Golden Hill, North Park and more for its 10 free public performances.

Padres Pedal the Cause

San Diegans are invited to come together at Petco Park on Sunday, April 7 to raise money for a world without cancer. Bike across the Coronado Bridge, run or walk a 5k course, or participate in a 50-minute spin class at Petco Park. Visit curebound.org/padrespedal to register.

Earl Thomas returns

After a three-year hiatus, world-renowned blues artist Earl Thomas is back to perform with his new group: Earl Thomas and the Gospel Ambassadors featuring Sister Leola at UCSD Park & Market on Sunday, April 7 at 5 p.m.

Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

The Fleet Science Center will host a free viewing party for the partial solar eclipse on Monday, April 8. It will be held outside the Fleet in front of the Bea Evenson Fountain, beginning at 9 a.m. The partial solar eclipse will begin at 10:03 a.m. when the moon appears to touch the sun’s edge. The climax, when the Moon is closest to the center of the Sun, will be visible from San Diego at 11:11 a.m.

Super Adoption Event

Vegan Food Popup is partnering with ten San Diego-based rescues and shelters to find new homes for dozens of local dogs and cats. The first San Diego Super Adoption will be held on Saturday, April 13th from 12 to 4 p.m. at the North Park Mini Park.

Over 20 Lamborghinis, or “Italian bulls,” will fill the streets of Little Italy amid a musical celebration on Sunday, April 14 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on India Street between W. Fir and W. Grape streets.

Pickleball Tournament

St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center (SMSC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will host a Pickleball Tournament on Friday, April 19th, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at San Diego Mission Bay Resort. Spring Pop-Up
A day of spring will be celebrated at Diane Powers’ Bazaar del Mundo Shops in Old Town with a tribute to beloved artist, Laurel Burch, and a curated selection of jewelry, fashion and décor at the free “Spring Pop-up, Curated by Bazaar del Mundo,” Saturday, April 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Bazaar del Mundo Shop courtyard.

NEA Big Read

Participate in the many free events Write Out Loud presents this month for the NEA Big Read, including the Read! Imagine! Create! Celebration on Wednesday, April 24 at 6 p.m. in the Neil Morgan Auditorium at the Central Library where local students will present literary, performance, visual and media art projects inspired by “Circe” by Madeline Miller and “Mythology” by Edith Hamilton.

The San Diego Museum of Art’s signature fundraiser occurs from April 25-28. The cheapest way to participate is with $40 museum admission on Saturday and Sunday to see stunning floral installations inside the museum as well as enjoy a garden of activities outside.

Mission Fed ArtWalk

Thousands will stream the streets of Little Italy for ArtWalk to interact with artists, purchase artwork, enjoy live music performances, and to participate in the interactive art experiences over two days. Head to India Street on Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to join.

San Diego Book Crawl

From April 27-29, visit independent bookstores in San Diego to collect exclusive prizes. The Book Catapult, Library Shop SD, Libelula Books & Co, Verbatim Books, Bluestocking, Meet Cute and other indie bookstores are participating this year.
