Local kids engineer victory in California Southern FLL Challenge Championship
The team, “The Garage Engineers,” made up of four sixth graders – three boys, Liam Ryu, Jamie Seo, Nico Rualo, from Pershing Middle School and one girl, Kylie O’Connor, from Lewis Middle School – recently won the California Southern FLL Challenge Championship at Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo.
They earned second place in the Robot Game performance and took home the overall first place title as the 2024-25 Submerged Champions out of 50 teams.
Proud parents noted that they amazed us with their dedication and hard work.
The team is advancing to the Western Edge Invitational, an international competition with 90 teams from all over the world, in Long Beach, taking place May 31-June 1.
