French golfer wins Farmers Insurance Open

Matthieu Pavon hugs his caddie Mark Sherwood after making his seven-foot-long birdie putt on Torrey Pines’ iconic 18th hole to win the Farmers Insurance Open by one over Nicolai Højgaard on Jan. 27.

Pavon is a French professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and the European Tour. With his victory at the Farmers Insurance Open, Pavon became the first French golfer to win on the PGA Tour since 1907. Pavon finished at 13-under 275 and earned $1.62 million. PHOTO BY THOMAS MELVILLE
