Dance to Taylor Swift  

The Eras Tour may not have made it to San Diego, but Swifties can still come together share their support with two different parties this month. First, head to House of Blues on Jan. 5 at 10 p.m. for Taylor’s Version, a Dance Party. The following weekend, The Music Box is having a tribute night on Jan. 12 at 10:30 p.m.  

Joe Marson residency 

Soulful singer/songwriter Joe Marson has a three-night residency over three weekends at Music Box The exclusive three-night event, presented by CORE Creatives, will showcase a stellar lineup of headlining acts, including Con Brio, SHRiNKRAY, and the legendary Reverend Shawn Amos. Local talent will also be prominently featured at the concerts on Jan. 10, 17, and 31. 

Petco Park Rodeo 

After a defeated lawsuit, Petco Park’s first rodeo is going forward. The Padres partnered with C5 Rodeo Productions and Outriders Productions to bring a rodeo to the city so locals no longer have to trek to Poway for a stomping good time. Jan. 12-14. Tickets at mlb.com. 

Closing sale at Architectural Salvage 

Architectural Salvage, a pioneer in San Diego’s vintage and reclaimed interior scene, announces its planned closure after 28 years with a Celebration Sale on Jan. 12-14, 2024 at its Little Italy storefront at 2401 Kettner Blvd. Founded by artist and historic preservationist Elizabeth Scalice, this beloved store has been a treasure trove for adventurous homeowners, restoration enthusiasts, and designers, offering an array of unique, reclaimed vintage pieces for homes, restaurants, and gardens. 

 Tomás and the Library Lady 

Junior Theatre’s January production of “Tomás and the Library Lady” has been selected as a World Design Capital San Diego Tijuana 2024 Community Initiative, highlighting young acting talent. The play focuses on a Mexican-American boy, the son of migrant farm workers, and the bond he forms with a librarian who introduces him to a love of reading. The play will run Fridays at 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays at 2 p.m. from Jan. 12 to 21 at Casa del Prado Theatre in Balboa Park.  

Martin Luther King Jr. Day 

After watching the 42nd annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade on Harbor Drive, one of the largest celebrations of its kind in the country, head to the World Beat Center in Balboa Park for a family festival aimed at keeping Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream alive. Jan. 15 from 12-6 p.m. 

Korean Arts and Culture Festival  

To celebrate Korea in Color: A Legacy of Auspicious Images exhibition making its US debut, the San Diego Museum of Art is hosting a Korean Arts and Culture Festival for free on its steps on Jan. 20. from 1-5 p.m. All ages can enjoy craft making, viewing works from local artists and KPop performances from LALARY, NK Dance Studio, Kasa Ignite Dance, Rule Breaka and Master of Ceremonies, MC Maru. 

Ilana Glazer at Balboa Theatre 

Comedian Ilana Glazer will be at the Balboa Theatre on Jan. 29. Stand-up comic, actor and filmmaker Glazer is best known for co-creating co-starring in the critically acclaimed show “Broad City.” Find tickets for her stop in San Diego at IlanaGlazerLive.com.
